Shen Yinchu , a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and an expert in biochemical engineering, is renowned as the "Father of Polyacrylamide in China" and the "Pioneer of China's Biochemical Industry". He developed the industrialized microbial catalytic process for producing acrylamide and established China's first large-scale biotechnological facility for manufacturing bulk chemical raw materials, marking a groundbreaking application of biocatalysis in the chemical industry. In 2021, the National Functional Polymer Industry Committee honored him with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Functional Polymer Industry. Shouxin, a company specializing in polyacrylamide, also greatly benefits from the scientific achievements of Academician Shen in the "10,000-ton microorganism catalysis method for producing acrylamide".
